The 2022 Taiwan Lantern Festival in Kaohsiung was a lantern festival that brought together many artists and curators from around the world. With the concept of "the main light is a river," Kaohsiung City Government took advantage of the light environment technology and smart technology to reconstruct the environment of Kaohsiung harbour city by integrating light art and urban texture, hoping to recreate a new look for Kaohsiung Love River. The project saw three main design breakthroughs. The first is a in scale: it is the largest lighting renovation project in Taiwan, with 7 km of round-trip design, covering six bridges, a light rail trasit, and it’s station. The second is in technology: our design team introduced the first "Intelligent Control Digital Aesthetic Riverbank Lighting Environment" in Taiwan. The third is an indicative breakthrough: the final result of the landscape transformation is more in line with the local lifestyles, and a new type of waterfront lighting model was born.
